Ti West is an American film director, producer, screenwriter, editor, cinematographer, and occasional actor, best known for his work in horror films. He has directed horror films such as The Roost (2005), Trigger Man (2007), Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever and The House of the Devil (both 2009), The Innkeepers (2011), The Sacrament (2013), and In A Valley of Violence (2016), the latter being a Western film. He is most known for directing the X film trilogy (2022-2024).

- Ti West is the only known director who in the Scream franchise, who despite his earlier work, began as a director for one of the episodes of the TV series, specifically Season 1.
- Ti had cast Jenna Ortega in his 2022 film X, in November 2020, who went to star in the film after filming her role as Tara Carpenter, a main character in the fifth film, Scream (2022).
- West had also previously worked with Radio Silence duology and directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett in the 2012 anthology horror film V/H/S, with each director having their own segments,
- As the latter two directors having directed the fifth and sixth films of the franchise, Scream (2022) and Scream VI (2023).
