The Shallow Grove Slasher is the identity given to the main antagonist of the Season 2 episodes, Halloween and Halloween II.
Originally conceived to be the ghost of Anna Hobbs haunting Shallow Grove Island, The Shallow Grove Slasher was later revealed to be Tom Martin, a young man who lured the Lakewood survivors to the island because he was in love with Emma Duval. In-costume scenes as The Shallow Grove Slasher were potrayed by Matthew R. Staley.

Weapons and Equipment[]
Garden Shears: The Shallow Grove Slasher's signature weapon. He stabbed most of his victims to death with them and used it to cut the fingers and head off of Sheriff Carpenter.
Overalls/Anna Hobbs Mask: Used to conceal his identity.
Voice Changer: Uses this to Taunt and Trick Emma Duval into thinking he is Kieran Wilcox's killer.
Shotgun: Tom Martin grabs a Shotgun when he sees Jeremy Blair knocking at the front door. Once Emma Duval finds the body of the real Alex Whitten, Tom Martin is once again shown with the shotgun.
Abilities and Attributes[]
Just like Ghostface and The Lakewood Slasher, The Shallow Grove Slasher has many deadly skills. He is very skilled at Stealth and stalking. During Broad daylight, he is able to kill Sid without being seen after stealing the Anna Hobbs Mask and garden shears moments ago. When Billie Fields is telling the story of Anna Hobbs, he is watching Emma Duval and all her friends completely undetected. When Billie heads home, she found the mansion had been broken into and she goes to check it out, as she is moving around, The Shallow Grove Slasher is watching her completely undetected before soon killing her. Later on When Sheriff Carpenter finds the body of Sid, he is waiting in the bushes and is able to attack him from behind before killing him He is able to Stab Jeremy Blair from behind with the garden shears.
Despite Tom Martin appearing to be an average sized man, he possesses a degree of strength. He is able to successfully kill Sheriff Carpenter after striking him with the edge of the shears before cutting off his fingers and head. After revealing himself as the Killer, Emma Duval tries to strike him with a lantern, which he grabs with ease. Emma then stabbed him with the garden shears which he was able to pull off and continued to pursue her until he was killed by falling off the balcony.
The Shallow Grove Slasher is shown to be great at setting up traps as he is able to place the dead body of Sid on the middle of the road for Sheriff Carpenter to find before killing him.
The Shallow Grove Slasher is great at manipulation as he is able to trick Jeremy Blair online into coming on to the island along with Emma Duval and her friends after convincing Jeremy to come to the Island to do research on Anna Hobbs.
The Shallow Grove Slasher was also able to commit Identity theft when he killed the real Alex Whitten and stole his identity.
Just like Ghostface and The Lakewood Slasher, The Shallow Grove Slasher was able to survival a fatal attack. Emma Duval stabbed him with garden shears, and he was able to pull them off, he was ultimately killed when he charged at Emma and fell from the balcony to his death.

- The killer's signature weapon is the Garden Shears.
- Making him the first Killer to have a signature weapon different from the bowie knife that Ghostface and The Lakewood Slasher used.
- Technically The Lakewood Slasher proceeds him by being the first killer to have killed their victims with more unique weapons in addition to the signature bowie knife.
- With 5 victims, The Shallow Grove Slasher holds the second highest franchise killing spree as a solo killer, with the first being both Roman Bridger from Scream 3. and Kieran Wilcox.
- The Shallow Grove Slasher is inspired by Leatherface, the main antagonist of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (overalls, bulky build) and Jason Voorhees (one-eyed burlap sack mask, gardening tool for a weapon). Also, in some of the Friday the 13th movies Jason is considered a tall tale or myth before actually appearing.
- The first and only killer in the franchise to exist after being conceived from a myth or tall tale.
- The first and only killer in the franchise to have a unique identity from the main killers (Ghostface and The Lakewood Slasher) and go on his own killing spree with no real connection to the killers before him or their victims/targets.
