Sidney Prescott was the daughter of Maureen and Neil Prescott and the half-sister of Roman Bridger. Some friends that she has (and have had) are Dwight "Dewey" Riley, Gale Weathers, Mark Kincaid, Tatum Riley, Randy Meeks, Stu Macher, Billy Loomis, Hallie McDaniel, Derek Feldman and Mickey Altieri.

Background

Sidney was born to Neil and Maureen Prescott and was raised by them until she was in her late teens when her mother was brutally raped and murdered by her boyfriend, Billy Loomis. But until the end of the first movie Scream, everyone thought that the murderer was Cotton Weary, her mother's love affair.

Films

Scream 1

In Scream, Sidney is depicted as a scared and withdrawn teenager mainly due to the fact that the anniversary of her mother's death was fast approaching added to that her boyfriend wanted them to lose their virginity to each other. Soon after Sidney and Billy have sex it is revealed that Stu and Billy are the killers. After they try to kill her she kills them both in self-defense Stu with the TV and Billy being stabbed twice with an umbrella and shot thrice twice by Gale and once in the head by Sidney.

Scream 2

In Scream 2, Sidney is trying to get over the events of the last 3 years and is attending Windsor College with Randy, her new friends Haliey and Mickey and her new boyfriend Derek. But now someones taking their love of sequels one step too far. Sidney soon finds out that Mickey and Mrs. Loomis (Billy's mother) are the killers after Derek, Randy and Haily had lost their lives.

Scream 3

After being attacked by 4 psychos, Sidney has been put into protection and is living up in the mountains to avoid being attacked again. Unfortunately for her, her long-lost half brother Roman has other plans after two cast members of Stab 3 were killed, the movie was shut down and Sidney came out of hiding (however it took her until after the third death to be shown due to timing) and she unmasks the killer in the climax, Roman

Scream 4

Wes Craven recently announced in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that Sidney has written a book about her life. Apparently it received critical acclaim.

Behind the Scenes

She was described as "a young firl of 17...Sharp and clever with deep, lonely eyes" in the Scream script.

She was described as "Two years older has brought a maturity to this beautiful young woman. Her face poses a maturity to this beautiful young woman. Her face poses a survivor's edge. Stronger and more determined, she appears to have weathered the storm" in the Scream 2 script.

She was described as "the stoic, survivor. Now 24" in the Scream 3 script. The age is a typo.
