Notes[]
- Recurring characters, Piper Shaw and Quinn Maddox are introduced in "Hello, Emma".
- However, Piper was technically introduced in the Pilot episode, despite being in the Lakewood Slasher costume.
- Nina Patterson appeared physically in "Pilot" and "The Dance" only, despite the latter being video footage.
- Video footage of her death scene was shown in "Hello, Emma" and photos of her in "Aftermath" and "Exposed".
- Nina's death, among others and Clark's, were used in Season 2 in the season's finale episode "When a Stranger Calls".
- Will Belmont is the first main character to die in the series. He makes his last appearance in "Ghosts", and despite his death occurring in the last episode, is shown to detail in the beginning of this one.
- He also appears as a hallucination, making
- Clark Hudson is the second main character to die series. He makes his last appearance in "Revelations", as well as his death is shown.
- Season 1 is the only season to have a recurring character that appeared in all episodes.
- Jake Fitzgerald is the only recurring character to make appearances in all episodes of Season 1.
- Zoë Vaughn and Gustavo Acosta were both introduced to the series as main characters in the season premiere of the second season, "I Know What You Did Last Summer".
- They would be replacements for both Riley Marra as Noah Foster's love interest and Jake Fitzgerald as Brooke Maddox's love interest, both formerly from Season 1, and Jake from both Season 1 and 2.
- Similarly, Audrey Jensen would also be replaced with two love interests: first being Rachel Murray from Season 1 (hallucination Rachel appears in Season 2 in "Happy Birthday to Me") to Gina McLane ("Halloween"/"Halloween II" specials).
- Out of everyone in the Lakewood Five remaining (Emma, Noah, Brooke, Audrey, and Gustavo), both Emma are Noah are the only ones that are single (due to Brooke-Gustavo dating within the group, and Audrey dating Gina as of "Halloween" to "Halloween II").
- Overall, there have been only two viable relationships in the Lakewood Five and both involved Brooke's relationships with Jake Fitzgerald (secret) and Gustavo Acosta (main).
- Due to Brooke never going public with Jake to begin with, due to fear of retaliation from her own father and Mayor, Quinn Maddox (who also unbeknownst to her, was Jake's former crime partner and who he had blackmailed with the video of him having moved a body from his and Brooke's home's guest house from Season 1, despite Jake making her believe the real criminal was Will, even though he had been involved as well).
- Overall, there have been only two viable relationships in the Lakewood Five and both involved Brooke's relationships with Jake Fitzgerald (secret) and Gustavo Acosta (main).
- Despite their romance as friends prior to Season 1 and survivors afterwards in Season 2, Brooke's only legitimate romance was with Gustavo, due to going public about it after some time, following her recovering from witnessing Jake's corpse fall while she was on stage at school to accept her Lady in The Lake nomination in "Happy Birthday to Me", who prior believed he was alive and ghosting/toying with her and her friends, seeing as he's disappeared before, despite's Brooke's initial protests on the suspicion of his absence being more than a day in "Vacancy" and "Psycho".
- As of the Season 2 finale and Halloween specials, Emma's second "relationship" with her ex-boyfriend, as well as her half-sister's accomplice and lover, Kieran Wilcox, was false and nothing but a ploy, seeing as Kieran was a false member of the Lakewood Six as due to how he and Piper had killed her ex, Will Belmont, from Season 1 (allegedly due to his infidelity to her with Nina), despite Will and Emma's reconciliation effort following Emma having rescued him, even though Kieran had also been behind Emma's back with Piper since Season 1 and his hatred for her killing Piper as his motive to continue in Season 2.
- Zoe would appear for the first time since she was mentioned by Riley in "Pilot".
- Noah and Emma are the only characters in the Lakewood Five to have lost more than one partner, with Brooke and Audrey only having lost one.
- Despite Kieran being a killer, Emma had loved him, albeit she has technically only lost one partner, much like both Brooke and Audrey.
- Similarly, both Brooke and Emma had all male partners that were criminals to some degree, despite unlike best friends Jake (Brooke) and Will (Emma), they were not killers as it turned out, unlike Kieran (Emma) who was.
- Second season main character, Zoë Vaughn was absent in "Jeepers Creepers". Her last appearance and death was "The Vanishing". But she still appeared in video footage, during "Heavenly Creatures" and "When a Stranger Calls".
- She is the first female main character that has been killed off in series.
- She was also the third main character to die.
- Main character, Kieran Wilcox was absent in "Aftermath" and "The Vanishing".
- Main character, Brooke Maddox was absent in "The Vanishing".
- Main character, Gustavo Acosta was absent in "Let The Right One In" and "The Vanishing".
- Kieran Wilcox is the fourth and final main character to die in the series from the first two seasons. His last appearance was in "Halloween".
- Season 3 will feature new characters, story and setting due to the series being rebooted by the previous network.
- The new season premiered on VH1 on July 8, 2019 and concluded on July 10, 2019, airing over a 3-night event, with two episodes released each day of.
- The first main character to die from this season was Shane.
- The second main character to die this season was Amir Ayoub.
- The third main character, first Ghostface (male) and second male killer in the TV series, (the third overall) to die this season was Jamal Elliot.
- The fourth and final main character, the second Ghostface (female) and second female killer in the TV series (fourth overall) to die this season was Beth.
- Flashbacks to Halloween 2010, containing both Deion and Marcus Elliot (twins) following their costume swap, appear throughout episodes of the third season, as well as containing Luther Thompson, mainly the first episode "The Deadfast Club" to "Endgame", the latter especially.
- Victims in Season 3 to have had flashbacks in which their killers were revealed in "Endgame" include: Tommy Jenkins, Avery Collins, Shane, Manny, Luther Thompson, Amir Ayoub, and B. Westbrook, as well as attempted victim Officer Reynolds, despite his attack not being shown as it occurred previously in "Ports in the Storm".
- Out of the survivors of the Deadfast Club, only Marcus-Liv are dating (despite Amir and Beth's hookup, who weren't a couple, and Beth's flings with dropout Shane and quarterback Avery), with Kym being single.
- As well as Hawkins, Marcus's best friend and former classmate of the group's, due to the death of Manny, who was his own secret ex-boyfriend, who either prior to the creation of the group or during/after, was seeing him. Revealed to Kym only.
- Flashbacks for the first two victims in the 1994 Lakewood Murders and of the overall Lakewood Murders, Dara Alden and Brett Keener, both appear in "Wanna Play a Game?", as well as their deaths.
- Brandon James, suspected original Lakewood Slasher albeit framed (due to his mask), appears in photographs in "Pilot" and in a flashback as well in episodes of Season 1, and in flashbacks in Season 2.
- Both Maggie Duval and Miguel Acosta appear in flashbacks of 1994 as their younger selves, in both Season 1 and 2, with Maggie in both and Miguel only in Season 2
- Only Maggie is shown to progress in her flashbacks and seen as a child to teenager, like her daughter Emma.
- Kevin Duval would also be utilized as a flashback, albeit through audio recordings only, in Season 1 in "In The Trenches", with a tape recorder playing an excerpt from his therapy sessions from 1994-1995.
- Emma Duval appears in flashback, firstly as a child in Season 1 in "Ghosts", and in Season 2, albeit a memory/dream version, as well as photographs of her younger self, in "I Know What You Did Last Summer" and others.
- The cast for the characters of the "Halloween" and "Halloween II" specials from Season 2 are not counted for, due to being in special episodes only, as well as the different storyline pertaining the Shallow Grove Island/Shallow Grove Slasher being based on mythos, thus not counted for.
- For their appearance in Season 2 as a whole, see Character Appearances.
- For their appearance in the TV series and their deaths in said special episodes, see Scream (TV Series) Death Chart.
