Sarah Anne Michelle Gellar-Prinze, better known as her birth name Sarah Michelle Gellar, is an American actress, model and executive producer.
Career[]
She became widely known for her role as Buffy Summers on the WB/UPN television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer, for which she won six Teen Choice Awards and the Saturn Award for Best Genre TV Actress and received a Golden Globe Award nomination. She originated the role of Kendall Hart on the ABC daytime soap opera All My Children, winning the 1995 Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series.
Her film work includes starring roles in Scream 2 (1997), I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997), Cruel Intentions (1999); Scooby-Doo (2002); Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed, (2004), (alongside Matthew Lillard), the American remake of Japanese horror film The Grudge (2004); and The Return (2006). Gellar also played an ex-porn star in Richard Kelly's Southland Tales (2007) and was part of an ensemble cast in The Air I Breathe (2008). Gellar also starred in Veronika Decides to Die (2009). She is currently starring in the new television series, Ringer.
She is married to Freddie Prinze Jr. They have two children named Charlotte Grace and Rocky James.

- In the Scooby-Doo films, she co-starred with her husband and their friend Matthew Lillard, who had played Stu Macher in the original Scream (1996 film).
- Her role in Buffy the Vampire Slayer was extremely popular in the 1990s. So, when she was killed off early on in Scream 2, it came as a great shock to audiences. This was done in a similar way to Drew Barrymore's death in the first film.
- Her husband, Freddie Prinze Jr., was referenced in Scream 3 by a character named Tom Prinze.
- The character of Sarah Darling in Scream 3 is a reference towards her.
- Cici's death scene was achieved by rising her up onto the balcony from invisible cables and then playing it back quickly to give the illusion that she was being thrown off the roof.
- She played Helen Shivers in I Know What you Did Last Summer (1997), which was written by Kevin Williamson.
- She starred in Cruel Intentions which also starred Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillipe (who played Barry Cox in I Know What You Did Last Summer)
- Witherspoon had turned down playing Sidney Prescott in Scream and was considered for Geller's role Cici Cooper in Scream 2.
- Witherspoon had auditioned for a role in I Know What You Did Last Summer and was in relationship with Phillipe.
- Cruel Intentions supporting cast featured Joshua Jackson, who played a film Student in Scream 2, Selma Blair who voiced Cici Cooper's friend on the phone and had been considered for Jennifer Jolie in Scream 3, Eric Mabius was considered for Derek Feldman and Charlie O' Connell, the brother of Jerry O' Connell, who played Derek Feldman.
