Robbie Rivers is a reporter in Pine Grove hosting a morning show titled Pine Grove with Robbie Rivers.
Robbie shares the same forename as Robbie Mercer from Scream 4, the eighth victim in the Second Woodsboro Murders.
- While Rivers is a reporter, both him and Mercer are similar in that each are part of a broadcast for their journalism, due to Robbie via his webcam on his ear having his own live broadcast web series Hall Pass with Robbie Mercer; with Mercer and his series being personal, whereas Rivers is for actual news station broadcasting.
Robbie is the third character in the Scream franchise to have his own television show, and the second male film character to have so, preceded by:
- Cotton Weary in Scream 3 with 100% Cotton (shot and set in Los Angeles).
- Gale Weathers in Scream (2022) with Good Morning with Gale Weathers (shot and set in New York City).
Robbie would become one of various reporters, and first male of whose named, in the upcoming seventh film, preceded by Gale Weathers, Obnoxious Reporter, Reporter with Mask, Nancy Loomis from Scream 2, and Nancy O'Dell in Scream 2, Scream 3 and Scream 4, among various others, mainly women.
