Randy Meeks is a fictional version of Woodsboro Murders survivor and Windsor College Murders victim, Randy Meeks (portrayed by Jamie Kennedy in real-life) who appears in the Stab film franchise, a parodic film series based on the Scream film series set inside the Scream universe). The film version of Randy is portrayed by a fictionalized version of actor Christopher Speed.
Despite surviving the original film-within-a-film, Stab (1997 film-within-a-film), he dies in Stab 2 (1999), upsetting fans everywhere, according to Stab 3: Return to Woodsboro cast member, Tyson Fox.
His scenes in the original Stab are seen in the fifth Scream film. According to Chad Meeks-Martin, he is stabbed in the original film, a divergence in storytelling from the true events where he was merely stabbed.
Speed is credited as "Movie Randy" in the fifth film.
History[]
Stab (1998 film, 1997 limited release)[]

Near identical to true events, he gives the rules of a horror film at Stu Macher (Vince Vaughn)'s house. He is then presumably attacked and stabbed by Ghostface after being told to "turn around". Given the fact that Gale Weathers lied and stated Kenny Brown was gutted, he may have received a different death scene altering the events where Randy's almost-stabbing is a divergence.
Stab 2[]

In the trailer, Randy is explaining to Dewey the rules for a sequel and that everyone is a suspect (differentiation: he is saying this outside the Windsor College, instead of the restaurant in Scream 2). In some point, he is threated by Cotton Weary (differentiation: this never happened in the film). Later he is killed by Nancy Loomis (differentiation: he is murdered in the outside against the grass, instead of Joel's news van in Scream 2).
Scream 2 (1997 film)[]
Randy Meeks is upset a "nobody" is playing him in the newly released film shortly before his murder.
Scream 3 (2000 film)[]
'Stab' Randy (Joey Garfield) appears in a recreation of Stab 2 trailer for the DVD Bonus, saying the rules to Dewey and later killed by Nancy Loomis.
Scream 4 (2011 film)[]
The original Stab film was shown at the Third Annual 2011 Stab-A-Thon hosted by Charlie Walker and Robbie Mercer as were the previous two in 2009 and 2010. The real-life Gale Weathers was attacked during the death scene of Heather Graham's Casey.
Scream (2022 film)[]
At Amber Freeman's house, partygoers are watching the original Stab. He explains the rules of a horror film to partygoers at Stu's house. Randy's real-life niece, Mindy Meeks-Martin watches his scenes and yells at him to turn around as Ghostface is behind him. Ghostface is behind her too in the same scene.
Trivia[]
- Credited as "Movie Randy".
- His casting was a creative pursuit for Radio Silence to re-investigate the original Stab film which had footage shown in Scream 2 and later Scream 4 in archive footage.
- While Joey Garfield was the subtle reference intended initially and hinted at in Scream 2, it is not a continuity error, as the actor is noted to be unknown, therefore easily mistaken to be someone else. Also, Christopher Speed resembles Garfield.
- Consequently, in the Scream universe, this makes the fictional version of Speed much older in the real world today, by approximately 23 years.
