Rachel is a fictional character who appears in the Stab film franchise, set inside the Scream film series universe. She is the opening scene victim of the meta-verse film-within-a-film, Stab 7 (2010 film) who makes a cameo in Scream 4 (2011 film). She is murdered by her best friend, Chloe, the overall 13th Ghostface killer in the Stab franchise.

She was a Stab film series critic who is murdered by her secret fanatical friend, Rachel after her rant about her dislike for the endless Stab sequels and cliches of slasher films.

The Stab 7 scene was a parody of audience complaints against endless sequels and slasher films in general by Wes Craven. In the Scream-universe, it was also the same thing. The film frames the previous Stab films as films-within-a-film (Stab 7)-within-films (the Scream franchise).

Rachel was portrayed by Anna Paquin.

Biography

Rachel is killed by Chloe.

Rachel is watching Stab 6 (2009 fictional film) with her best friend Chloe, who gets fed up with Rachel when she tells Chloe about how dumb and obvious she thinks the Stab movies are.

Chloe eventually stabs Rachel, telling her to be quiet while watching the movie. This is all in itself the beginning of the movie Stab 7, which Marnie Cooper and Jenny Randall, the first two actual victims, are watching.

• Rachel continues the tradition of a famous actor, in this case, Anna Paquin, playing a character who is killed off during the films opening scene. Rachel has the least amount of screen time out of all of the opening kills.
• If Sherrie and Trudie (Lucy Hale and Shenae Grimes) were counted as the official opening kills, Rachel would be the 3rd kill just like Cici Cooper (played by Sarah Michelle Gellar) in Scream 2, Sarah Darling (played by Jenny McCarthy) in Scream 3 and Shane (played by Tyler Posey) on the 3rd season of the TV series, all of whom are the 3rd kills in their respected movie or season and are played by notable celebrities and killed early on without being the opening kills.
  • However, Sherrie, Trudie and Rachel (along with Chloe) exist only in the fictional Stab universe.

• In each of the three openings of Scream 4, there is usually a meaner more outspoken girl and a sweeter girl. In this opening, Rachel is the outspoken mean one. Although this is ironic considering Chloe, the "sweet" one, is revealed to be the Ghostface of Stab 7.
