The name and gender unspecified Protagonist was used to be a student at Shadeville High School, and along with 2 other female friends, they planned to prank a girl named Becky at the woods. Although the Protagonist nearly backed out, heading to the woods was eventually attempted, but Becky and the 2 girls were discovered to be murdered. As the murders have never been solved, Aunt Jill decided to take the Protagonist to Lakewood for a fresh start.
