He was portrayed by Philip Pavel.
History[]
Background[]
Officer Andrews was a single Gemini and believed by Sidney to be gay. A law enforcement officer, he was one of Chief Lewis Hartley's best men.
The Windsor College Murders (1997)[]
After the murders of three Windsor College students and an attack on Sidney Prescott at the Delta Lambda Zeta sorority house, Andrews spoke with Mickey Altieri outside Derek Feldman's hospital room. He and his partner, Officer Richards, were soon ordered by Chief Hartley to protect her. They followed her throughout the day, while walking through campus with Derek, eating lunch with her friends, and the Fall of Troy rehearsals. The two searched for the killer when Sidney was harassed at the college's library via the internet and brought Cotton Weary into custody when he confronted Sidney about an interview with Diane Sawyer, though he was later released.
After the announced murder of another Windsor College student, Randy Meeks, Officer Andrews and Officer Richards were tasked with escorting Sidney and her roommate and best friend, Hallie McDaniel, to somewhere where they would be safe from harm from the killer. While driving them to their safety, they stopped at a red light, which Ghostface used to his advantage and while Officer Andrews and Officer Richards were teasing Sidney and Hallie, Ghostface smashed his left hand through the driver's seat window and slashed Officer Andrews' throat.

Andrews with his throat slashed.
Ghostface then proceeded to beat up Officer Richards, hijack the car, crash it, impale Officer Richards through the back of the head with a large and long metal pole, killing him and finally killing Hallie by stabbing her in the chest four times in rapid succession before continuing to pursue Sidney.
In the climax of the film, when one of the Ghostface killers, Mickey Altieri, reveals his identity, a large wound can be seen on the right side of his forehead which must have been sustained from the car crash, which would imply that he was the Ghostface that was responsible for the murders of Officer Andrews, Officer Richards and Hallie.

Trivia[]
- Him and Richards are the first law enforcement casualties of the franchise.
- Deputies Ross Hoss and Anthony Perkins in Scream 4 would be the next law enforcement victims in the franchise until Clifton Roberts in Season 1 of the TV Series.
- In the fifth film, Scream (2022), Sheriff Judy Hicks would be the next in the film series to be killed followed by Deputy Clay.
- Andrews and Richards' names are both references to the two child actors who portrayed Tommy Doyle and Lindsay Wallace (Brian Andrews and Kyle Richards) in Halloween (1978 film).
- It is unknown who played him in the Stab franchise.
- It is likely Mickey stalked him and Richards after the cafeteria scene with Derek, as their presence were supposed to be anonymous, but Sidney casually identified them to her friendship circle, including details of their personal life.
- His final line is a reference to the "Don't ask, don't tell" policy initiated by the US government for less experienced people in the military.
- Andrews' actor, Philip Pavel was 27 when the movie was filmed and played a police officer while Timothy Olyphant, who played Mickey Altieri was 28 and Elise Neal, who played Hallie McDaniel was 30. They both played college students, who are in their early 20s. Andrews' age is never stated, while technically in real life, one can join the police and be sworn in at 21 in most states (which could make him in his early 20s), but it's likely Andrews is older and more experienced since he was one of Chief Lewis Hartley's best officers. This is similar to David Arquette playing Dewey Riley, who is 25 and a deputy in the first movie, while Skeet Ulrich, Matthew Lillard and Jamie Kennedy played Billy Loomis, Stu Macher and Randy Meeks, respectively, who are about a year older than Arquette and played teens (It should be noted that Arquette was brought in to audition for Billy, but chose to audition for Dewey instead.)
- Andrews and Richards' deaths are similar to Deputy Stevens from Season 2 of the TV Series and Officer David Coporizo from I Know What You Did Last Summer (written by Kevin Williamson):
- All four are transporting some of the main characters, although in the case of Stevens, he arrested Emma Duval and Audrey Jensen after finding the dead body of Mayor Quinn Maddox.
- All of them are eventually killed by the killers:
- Andrews is ambushed by Mickey Altieri, who slashes his throat.
- Stevens crashes into a pole after seeing the Lakewood Slasher (Kieran Wilcox) on the road.
- Coporizo sees Ben Willis on the road and assumes he is a bystander and goes to check on him and gets stabbed to death.
- Both Stevens and Richards attempt to fight the killers off before ultimately being killed.
- Stevens is stabbed to death by the Lakewood Slasher.
- Richards is driven and impaled onto a metal pole after being stuck on the hood of the car when Mickey Altieri attempts to run him over.
