- An annual celebration is held at the Lakewood Carnival, featuring a plethora of shows, amusement rides and public performances, held yearly on every 1st of February.
- In Village of the Damned, it was highlighted that Lakewood celebrated its 100th birthday at the annual Lakewood Days Carnival event.
- Despite being released prior (in 2016), the Lakewood Carnival is similar to that of the Carnival shown HBO teen drama Euphoria, which was released in 2019 (alongside Scream's Season 3) , which sees the event gather and be attended by each show's in-universe main characters, loosely.
