Stab 2 Screengrab 6

Joey Garfield see as Randy, in trailer for Stab 2, as seen in promotional content within DVD (thus non-canon), for Scream 3.

He is subtly mentioned in Scream 2 (1997 film) by Randy Meeks. Randy mistakenly or jokingly identifies his Stab actor Christopher Speed as Garfield, disappointed he is being played by "Joe Blow Nobody" who appeared in two episodes of Dr. Quinn.

This creates a continuity error since he portrays Randy Meeks in a Scream 3 (2000 film) DVD Bonus in a recreation of Stab 2 trailer. Unless Christopher Speed was replaced by Joey between Stab and Stab 2.

Trivia[]

  • He was originally intended as the actor to portray Randy in Stab as part of the Scream 2 meta joke. However, with the franchise relaunch, Randy's line of a nobody playing him gave Radio Silence a creative opportunity to hire an unknown actor to portray Randy, making Randy's reference a joke-ish misidentification (similar to his other movie trivia errors in the film).
  • Attended Evanston Township High School, Evanston, Ill.
  • Starred as the Octopus Monster in the Beastie Boys' music video "Intergalactic".

Reference[]

  1. Due to how in the fifth film stating and showing through footage of Christopher Speed (not the real life actor, but fictional, like with Tori Spelling), as Randy Meeks in the first Stab (1997) film, it's implied that the footage of the trailer for Stab 2 shown on the bonus promotional DVD content for Scream 3 is thus, rendered and considered non-canon.
