The Hicks House is the fictional home of Judy and her teenage son, Wes in Woodsboro, California, that appears in Scream (2022 film).

It is the two story home where the murder of Judy herself and Wes took place as the second and third victims, respectively, of the Third Woodsboro Murders (2022).

History[]

It's unknown if Judy owned the home before or after the Second Woodsboro Murders (2011) in Scream 4, as it's unclear as well as if whether or not Mr. Hicks, Wes's father, had co-owned it or bought it with Judy.

Judy would raise as a single mother her son, Wes, in the home, of which they would live in until September 2022, when the return of Wes's former babysitter, Samantha Carpenter, after the brutal attack by Ghostface to Sam's half-sister and Wes's friend, Tara Carpenter, initiated the town's third generational murders to commence.

The Woodsboro Legacy Murders (2022)[]

Judy is seen talking on the phone with a sushi restaurant, placing a pick-up order, who is preparing for dinner at her house.

Judy hangs up and hears a noise from the house's indoor lobby, who arms herself with a kitchen knife and finds the backdoor open. She closes it and as she returns, runs into her son, Wes, who's just returned home. She asks him if he's being safe, as Wes agrees as he shows her the equipment he has on him, which he places on a cabinet by the front door. Judy asks him to set the plates for their dinner, as Wes agrees and states after he showers, and who gives him the knife to return back to the kitchen. She kisses him on the cheek, grabs her purse, and tells him to lock the door as she boards her sheriff's car and drives to get the dinner.

As Wes showers upstairs in his bathroom interconnected with his bedroom, Judy is called and taunted by Ghostface on being by Wes's vicinity, who she would try to call in order to warn, to no avail, as a sobbing Judy begs for the killer to have mercy and not hurt him, with Ghostface taunting her of not arriving on time. Judy then turns around and drives fast back home, speeding.

Judy's Death[]

As Judy arrives and parks out front of her home, sounding the police car sirens as she does, she runs into the entrance frantically, calling out Wes's name, thinking he's in danger, before suddenly being stabbed and ambushed by Ghostface jumping from the front door, on her stomach, taking Judy aback as she falls onto her back, crawling backwards, as she screams and holds the killer's knife from stabbing her, who would cry out for help, before Ghostface overpowers her and stabs her repeatedly to death outside the front of her own home in the daylight.

Wes's Death[]

Wes after showering, unaware of her mother's demise just outside in the front yard, gets dressed and who would begin setting for dinner in the kitchen downstairs, who would suddenly hear a noise by the indoor lobby. Wes calls out and then proceeds to walk into the entrance foyer, who sees the door is left open. Wes doesn't peek out to look and closes it and locks the door, who would turn around and be face to face with Ghostface, startling him. Wes is then holding off the killer's knife, who's back is pinned to the front door, who's safety equipment and defense gear, such as his taser and mace, is in the entrance cabinet, too far for reach. Wes yells "Fuck you!", before Ghostface then fatally stabs him in the neck, as Wes then bleeds out and falls down the door he's pinned down as Ghostface is still holding him, dead.

Trivia[]

  • It is the seventh known residence in Woodsboro, California, and the third of which only two victims were killed at, with one on the inside and the other outside.
  • Wes being a teenager home alone and killed, although during the day, by Ghostface, is a reference to the deaths of Casey Becker, Marnie Cooper, Jenny Randall, and Olivia Morris preceding him.
  • It's likely both Amber and Richie were present for the murders.
  • After the events of the fifth film, the house is possibly vacant or up for sale.
