Ghostface appears in the NetherRealm Studios fighting game Mortal Kombat 1 as a playable guest character.
About Ghostface in Mortal Kombat[]
Billy Loomis arrived in the Mortal Kombat universe during the events of the first film's ending when he and Stu Macher began killing their friends at a party at Stu's house. Arriving in an unknown reality, Billy's bloodlust was not settled, so he found others to help him in his psychotic plans. He met two other characters who agreed to go along with Billy's murderous plans. With the other characters' enhanced abilities and Billy's psychotic genius, the Mortal Kombat universe was about to meet a new force of evil in Billy Loomis.
Appearance[]
Ghostface's appearance in the game is based off of Billy Loomis from the original film, with Skeet Ulrich providing his likeness while Roger L. Jackson provides the voice for the character during Arcade interactions, gameplay and the character's Arcade Ending.
Biography[]
The many killers who have worn the Ghost Face mask all share a horrifying trait: they take perverse joy in inflicting pain and taking lives. Armed with a menacing knife, an encyclopedic knowledge of horror films, and a psychopathic compulsion to torture, Ghost Face has become an infamous symbol of terror. No sooner did Ghost Face arrive in the New Era, then dead bodies began to pile up. Panic has seized the realms as its citizens fear for who might be this serial killer's next victim.
Fatal Blow[]
- Flick Of The Wrist: Ghostface will taunt their opponent along with one of their accomplices, only for a third Ghostface to stab the opponent in the back, allowing for the second to rush with a frying pan and daze their opponent. The main Ghostface then throws their knife into the opponent's chest then approaches, stabbing their opponent before cutting their forearm and hand into two sections, shredding the muscle before stabbing them one last time and pushing them away.
Fatalities[]
- Planning the Sequel: Ghostface approaches and eviscerates the opponent's stomach. As they flee in terror, they are intercepted by one of the accomplices, where they stab the victim in the face, allowing the first Ghostface to come from behind, stabbing the victim in the back, which allows the accomplice to cut the victim's head clean in half, kicking them away. Both Ghostfaces turn to the camera, cleaning their blades and laughing.
- Slashing The Fourth Wall: Ghostface begins stabbing their opponent, only for the camera to cut to a living room where the character Johnny Cage is playing Mortal Kombat 1. He complains about losing the game, insulting Ghostface, only for a second one to appear from behind him and murder him. The Ghostface from the game finishes murdering their victim and glares into the camera.
Brutalities[]
- The Klassic: Ghostface decapitates the victim with an uppercut.
- Got A Surprise: Ghostface grabs the victim and stabs them in the forehead, causing them to bleed profusely. Their victim takes an aimless swing at them before falling dead, similar to the death of Anthony Perkins in Scream 4.
- Feelin' A Little Woozy: Ghostface grabs and stabs the victim in the stomach, only for one of the accomplices to come from behind and pull the blade from the opponent's stomach and stab them in the neck. The victim holds onto their neck as they bleed to death, similar to the death of Vince Schneider in Scream (2022).
- A Bit Mad: Ghostface calls in an accomplice where both killers unleash a barrage of stab attacks in unison to the victim, killing them. This finisher is identical to the attack on Chad Meeks-Martin in Scream VI.
- Every Time!: Ghostface stabs the victim, then continues to stab the opponent before falling over dead.
- Please Don't Kill Me: A Ghostface accomplice flies at the victim and tackles them, then tries stab the victim in the chest. The victim fails, allowing the accomplice to viciously stab them in the chest and stomach. The accomplice them quickly looks at the camera. This finisher is similar to the death of Judy Hicks in Scream (2022).
- Deputy Dead: Ghostface runs at the victim then stabs them in the stomach and back simultaneously, wrenching the blades up before pushing them down, cutting the victim's chest and back open where their organs falling out. This finisher is a more gruesome version of Dewey Riley's death in Scream (2022).
- Let's Face It: A Ghostface accomplice throws one of their custom knifes at the victim that lodges into their face, killing them.

- Buck 120: The knife used by every Ghostface in the franchise, as well as the third season.
- Frying Pan: Used by Roman Bridger as Ghostface when attacking and killing Steven Stone in Scream 3, to more recently by Gale Weathers using it to defend herself when hitting Quinn Bailey as Ghostface who was chasing her to attack, in Scream VI.
- Telephone: While not used as a weapon usually, is a reference to Billy Loomis hitting Stu Macher with a telephone in Scream, to Richie Kirsch being hit with a phone by Tara Carpenter in Scream (2022).
- During his Ending, Ghostface chases and kills a teenaged girl that strongly resembles Casey Becker, one of the first opening victims of the first film (second), who's arguably the most famously recognizable of the Scream franchise.
- In his ending despite being transferred from 1996 to modern times, he quickly seemed to familiarize himself with live streaming and the meta universe, which could be a reference to the more recent Scream entries.
- In his ending, Billy mentions that nobody knows who Ghostface is and has to create a new legacy in the current age.
- Because of this with the exception of Stu Macher (who may have possibly still been killed by Sidney in this alternate timeline) none of the other Ghostface killers in the franchise may have made themselves known.
