Freddie Prinze Jr. is an American actor referenced in the Scream franchise.
He is known for his roles in Kevin Williamson's other slasher flick, I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997) and its sequel, I Still Know What You Did Last Summer (1998), She's All That (1999), Scooby Doo (2002), its sequel Scooby Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed (2004).

On January 3, 2022, Prinze Jr. aroused speculation when he tweeted, "I’ve wanted to make another horror movie ever since IKWYDLS wrapped. Never found the right one but I think this year it’s gonna happen." [1]He later clarified it was something new, and not a reboot of I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997). [2]
Biography[]
Prinze was born in Los Angeles, California, the only child of Puerto-Rican American actor-comedian Freddie Prinze Sr. and real estate agent Katherine "Kathy" Elaine Barber (née Cochran). On January 29, 1977, Prinze's father died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, less than a year after Prinze was born. Prinze grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
He was raised Catholic, embraces his Latino ancestry (as his paternal grandmother was a Puerto Rican from Boquerón, Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico Boquerón, and is fluent in Spanish. His mother is of Italian descent.
By the age of 15, he was inspired to get into show business after his dying grandfather told him he needed to "fix" what his father had "f'd up." He soon thereafter saw Neil Patrick Harris at his high school getting kids excited about getting into acting, and he decided to do that. After graduating from high school in 1994, Prinze moved to Los Angeles to audition for television roles.
