Earl Elliot is a recurring character in the third season of the television series, Scream.
Biography[]
Earl Elliot, while still married to an unnamed woman with whom he had a son, had an affair with Sherry Elliot and had a bigamist marriage that resulted in the birth of twin sons, Deion and Marcus Elliot. Earl travelled a lot as a trucker and split time between his two families, until the Halloween night his son Marcus disappeared. This caused Earl to chose Sherrie over his other wife, who in her distress committed suicide. Earl then took Jamal to live with Sherrie and Deion.

Trivia[]
- Earl becomes the official seventh character (fourth male) in the franchise, following Maureen Prescott, Hank Loomis, Christina Carpenter, and Billy Loomis in the films as well as Maggie Duval, Kieran Wilcox, and Haley Meyers in the TV series to have been monogamous (in the case of Earl, a bigamist), and thus having an affair, like the aforementioned characters (reversed, since Earl found love in his second wife, Sherry, thus wasn't having an affair with her).
- He would be succeeded in the franchise by Richie Kirsch.
- He would the second non-killer male character after Hank, technically to have been in an affair (reversed, since Hank had his during his marriage; while Earl was only in bigamy)
- However, he would be more parallel to Maggie since like her, he found love in his official first wife (albeit second, but his true love), Sherry; much like Maggie with Kevin, her actual first husband (despite the latter being high school sweethearts; like Earl, had an affair prior to her true love; unlike Maggie and Kevin, Earl and Sherry didn't have issues following learning the truth of Earl's first children; aka Sherry's stepson, unlike Kevin; due to different circumstances), despite Maggie and Earl already having a first illegitimate child (Maggie and Piper, Earl and Jamal) with each of their first partners (excluded for Maggie with Brandon, due to Brandon not having been in a relationship).
- Unlike Christina or Maggie, neither Earl, Hank, or Maureen had affairs with serial killers, but whose first children would be born to be (as well as Hank's ex-wife, Nancy, becoming one; excluding only Samantha since she doesn't take on a killer role like her father while Piper did, despite the latter's father not being one; despite not being born to killers, Roman, Billy and Jamal would take on a killer mantle to exact revenge)
- Unlike Maureen with Roman and Maggie with Piper, Earl, Hank, and Christina would be the only parents to not neglect their first children, despite each of their children's anger when learning personal truths (Marcus and Samantha to their secrets; despite Samantha's secret later being made known to only a select few, much like Marcus to Liv Reynolds only; Roman and Jamal to side families, despite Jay, unlike Roman, was taken in by his biological father and his side family, which he wasn't unaware of or searching of, while Roman was searching for his biological mother) which led to familiar problems which resulted in anniversary murder sprees in each:
- Excluding the Elliot family until 2018, even then not causing much due to truth never revealed by Marcus.
- Billy when learning of his dad's affair which made his mom leave, due to Roman.
- Roman being abandoned when having been turned away by his mother in shame, thus leading to record his mom's affairs and which in turn, gave it to Billy to kill his mother for him, setting off the events of the original Woodsboro Murders (which fell on the anniversary of Maureen's death in 1995).
- Piper, like Roman, was abandoned, but unlike him, didn't track down for her biological parents and despised her mother for supposedly causing her father's death (similar to Roman blaming his mom for being a bastard child to an unknown father, due to her background in Hollywood and being raped) which she would learn and going to avenge his death also on the anniversary of his by using her father's mask.
- This plot theme was used as motivation for the killers (Amber and Richie) in Scream (2022) to frame Samantha to use; like in 2015 (like Piper to Amber and Richie, started murders early on; like Jamal and Piper, each started the murder spree during the anniversary week; Piper on the 21st since the first in 1994, and Jamal on the 8th since the death of Deion in 2010).
- Somewhat different, when Samantha found out about her real father and caused the divorce of her stepfather and her mom, around the 15th anniversary and second Woodsboro Murders; secret would be used to taunt her on the 25th anniversary and third Woodsboro Murders and try to frame her of being a killer, similarly, due to her father.
- Each murder spree would target each of the first illegitimate's friend groups, specifically targeted towards their legitimate half-siblings for supposedly knowing the past and dark secrets (excluding Billy and Samantha, due to Sam not being a killer; Roman to Sidney, Piper to Emma, and Jamal to Marcus).
- Earl having an affair that causes his partner's death, would thus make him the equivalent of both Hank Loomis (death of his family, following Maureen's death) and Cotton Weary (posthumously, would die alongside his future partner, Christine, despite not cheating on her, due to Ghostface).
- Earl would also be the male parallel of Maureen Prescott, due to him being indirectly the cause of a murder spree also following the tragic death of his second child and his first ex-wife, the latter also indirectly as a result of the truth coming out.
- However, unlike Maureen, he wasn't murdered and was spared. This is a reference to Billy not killing his father, Hank, despite him being in the affair with Maureen, in the first Scream.
- Like Maureen (as well as Maggie and Christina), each had a first illegitimate child (Roman to Maureen, Samantha to Christina), which each would succeed with legitimate children (Sidney to Maureen, Emma to Maggie, Marcus and Deion to Earl, Tara to Christina).
- However unlike the aforementioned females, Earl doesn't necessarily neglect his first child and takes him in after the death of his mother due to her learning of Jay's side family, much like Christina not giving up her first child.
- However, unlike Maureen, he wasn't murdered and was spared. This is a reference to Billy not killing his father, Hank, despite him being in the affair with Maureen, in the first Scream.
