The Core Four is a survivor group formed by and consisting of the Carpenter sisters (Samantha and Tara) and the Meeks-Martin twins (Chad and Mindy), with Chad coming up with the name.

The name is established in Scream VI (2023) to define the leads of Radio Silence's Scream reboot, which began with the franchise's fifth entry, Scream (2022).

The four originally survived the Woodsboro Legacy Killings in 2022 (originally in 2021; see Continuity Errors) together, with the aid of the original Legacy Trio of Sidney, Dewey, and Gale. Following this, they formed a pact, and Chad dubbed the name himself to solidify their bond and shared traumatic history.

Notes

• Tara is the only Core Four member not related to a legacy character from the original Scream (1996).
  • Sam is Billy Loomis' daughter, while the twins are Randy Meeks' niece (Mindy) and nephew (Chad).
• Samantha is the eldest, and only non-teenage Core Four member. She was in her mid-20s for the two most recent Ghostface killing sprees.
• Chad coining the Core Four as the group's name is a reference to Noah Foster from Season 1-2 of the TV series also having named himself and the other survivors the Lakewood Six of the town titular Lakewood Murders.
• This group succeeds the Legacy Trio group by a member and more female members than males (Sam, Tara, and Mindy to Sidney and Gale; Dewey and Chad).
  • It is also officially the fourth group in the franchise, to be the official real friendship group, following Sidney's high school and college group in Scream and Scream 2, as well as the Popular Crowd (precursor to Lakewood Five, minus a faux-member) in Season 1 and 2 of the TV series, and the Deadfast Club in Season 3 (minus a faux member and including an unofficial member).
• Chad is the only Cour Four male member.
• Both of the Meeks-Martin twin siblings (Chad and Mindy) are the only members of the Core Four to set to appear in Scream 7.
