–The Cheerleader gives her theory on why Sidney, the daughter of a murdered "tramp", could be Casey and Steve's killers, to her friend. |
Cheerleader in Bathroom is an unnamed teenage student from Woodsboro High in Scream (1996 film). In the aftermath of Casey Becker and Steven Orth's brutal murders, she converses with a close friend on her theory about Sidney Prescott.
One of the many unnamed residents of Woodsboro, California, her cameo role in the original film has aroused much speculation and fan theories, despite its minimality. She was a fan of the talk show Ricki Lake (1993—2004).
Her lengthy dialogue in relation to Billy Loomis has led fans to believe she may have been one of Billy's jealous lovers (along with Christina, and the girls at the video store).
She was portrayed by Leonora Scelfo.
Biography[]
Background[]
She was born sometime in 1979. As a high school senior and cheerleader, many speculate she knew Tatum Riley on a personal level, who was hinted to be at cheer practice in the first film. She enjoyed watching Ricki Lake (1993—2004), a talk show named after the host herself.
The Woodsboro Murders (1996)[]
During the murders, at Woodsboro High, Sidney runs into the bathroom after being upset with Billy's comments. Sidney overhears the Cheerleader in Bathroom speaking about her while in separate stalls and hurries into a stall before she comes out and realizes she is there.
When the Cheerleader comes out of the stall, she is accompanied by another girl. While putting on her lipstick and fixing her hair, she continues the conversation. She suggests Sidney was a "slut just like her mother". Her friend appears to be more sympathetic, while the Cheerleader continues to trash Sidney with her comments. "Her mother was a tramp." Unbeknownst to her, Sidney was hiding and eavesdropping in the bathroom stall, having heard every word.
She then suggests Sidney committed the murders of Casey Becker and Steven Orth in a jealous rage. In her hypothesis, the Cheerleader states that Sidney must have thought "teen suicide is out this year, and if homicide is a much healthier, therapeutic expression". Her friend asked where she "gets this shit", and she replies, "Ricki Lake". Her friend calls her pathetic, and they leave the bathroom together casually.
