The Carpenter Residence, also known as the Carpenter House, is the two story home owned by the Carpenter family consisting of Christina Carpenter, her ex-husband Mr. Carpenter (forename unknown), and Christina's two daughters, which first appears in Scream (2022 film).

It's unknown whether or not if the house was bought by both Christina and her ex-husband, or solely the latter, (or if bought for them by either's parents) not long after they were engaged following Christina's pregnancy (of who's first child she conceived with Billy Loomis, the mastermind) and who married following their high school graduation in 1997 following the Woodsboro Murders in 1996 a year prior.

Their eldest daughter, and Mr. Carpenter's stepchild, Samantha Carpenter, had the home been bought either a few years after her birth, would've lived there from her early childhood approx. from 1998/1999 or 2000, up until 2016-2017.

Later on, their second daughter and Mr. Carpenter's firstborn, Tara Carpenter, would grow up at the home from her birth in 2002 until approx. 2023.

Following the separation (or divorce, unstated) of Christina and Mr. Carpenter, with the latter abandoning them, in approx. December 2010-January 2011, Christina would often leave her daughters at home alone, due to her work, and who after Samantha's departure, meant Tara would be the sole teenager at home.

Following the Legacy Murders (2022), Tara goes off to Blackmore University in New York City alongside Samantha to protect and oversee her, leaving the empty home to Christina.

History[]

December 14-25, 2010[]

One day, while a 13 year old Samantha was looking for Christmas presents, not long after Tara's eighth birthday. Sam, in the attic of her home, would find her mother's high school diary, who initially read it as she was curious to learn as to how the pairing of her and Tara's parents got together, knowing of her parent's marriage after high school due to Christina being pregnant with her, which she believed innocently to have been "romantic".

However, the truth wasn't to her avail, as a then middle schooler Sam would find out the hard truth of her mother's infamous high school affair with her stepfather being Tara's actual father, with her actual father being Billy Loomis, the mastermind of the original Woodsboro Murders (1995-1996), with her paternal grandmother then being Nancy Loomis, the vengeful-stricken mother of her father who'd spearhead the Windsor College Murders later to get revenge on her father's first ex-girlfriend and killer, and notably the famous survivor, Sidney Prescott.

Due to Tara being so young, she wouldn't know why her father had abandoned her or the family, which is revealed how due to Sam going into her parents bedroom and began to verbally confront out loud her mother on this hidden origin information, unaware of how Mr. Carpenter was standing outside behind Sam and had overheard everything and learned of the affair that night from Sam herself, thus Christina having lied about when she was pregnant with Sam and lying about it being his firstborn, so his engagement and marriage to her being a sham. This would cause him for to leave his 8- year old daughter and Sam as his stepdaughter behind, as well as separate from Christina, leaving Christina to then raise her daughters by herself.

Scream (2022)[]

The night of September 23rd (see Timeline), a 19-year old Tara is boiling water in her kitchen, to make something to eat (soup or pasta) and is texting with her friend, Amber Freeman, on the house being empty and to invite her, to hang out and binge watch TV, due to her mother being out of town. The landline rings at 9:38, who she believes it to be Wes Hicks, son of the Sheriff Judy Hicks, and both hers and Amber's friend. Tara answers to Ghostface posing as "Charlie" calling from her mother's recovery group, who strikes a conversation with Tara about horror films, mentioning Stab (1997), who then says it's Christina's favorite. Tara disagrees as this being her favorite film, but recalls watching it at a sleepover once, who prefers elevated horror films such as The Babadook (her favorite). The call then changes to sinister, once Ghostface says her name without Tara having given it out, and points out in a meta reference to Stab, based on the Woodsboro Murders (thus referencing Casey Becker) of Tara being in the same position of a teenage girl at home alone, who answers the phone and begins talking to the killer who'd make her play a trivia call game, and would then ask her if she'd like to do the same.

Tara hangs up, now distraught and fearful, closing the drapes of a window, as she goes on her phone to turn on the locks of her house via her phone's security app, who texts Amber before the landline rings and who gets a text from Amber saying she should answer the phone ringing (unaware that Amber is one of the Ghostface killers). Tara is then taunted by Ghostface of seemingly targeting Amber, by then sending a video of them outside, with the killer holding a knife in their blacked gloved hand, and Amber at her home with her window open, brushing her hair by her desktop mirror, unaware. Tara is forced to play a Stab trivia game in order to "save" her friend, which she plays and answers correctly, up until the question about who were the killers of the first Stab, when she fails to mention Billy's accomplice, Stu Macher. Tara would then grab a kitchen knife from the kitchen knife, with her cellphone on the other hand, as she proceeds to head to the lobby and open the front door, where Ghostface appears and slices her stomach, much to her horror. She fights and manages to lock Ghostface outside, and who uses her phone home security app to lock the doors and alert the police, who're on the way via her response. Tara then walks slowly, from the hallway near the stairs, back to the kitchen, as she tries desperately to lock the doors on her phone app, due to Ghostface hacking the app and unlocking them, taunting her. Tara finds herself back in the kitchen and is scared by the landline ringing who answers before she is stabbed by Ghostface as a fight ensues.
