Alicia Silverstone is an American actress mentioned and seen through an Easter egg in Scream (2022 film). She is best known for being a 90s teen idol, appearing in films such as Clueless (1995) and Batman & Robin (1997).

In the Scream universe, it is mentioned she portrayed the murdered Tatum Riley, the sister of Dewey Riley (played by David Schwimmer) in the original Stab (1998; incorrectly stated as 1997) film, derived from the eight-part Stab franchise.

The film was adapted from a Gale Weathers best-seller novel, The Woodsboro Murders (1997) from the "real life" original Woodsboro Murders that largely occurred in 1996.

Behind the Scenes

• Silverstone was offered the actual role of Tatum Riley in Scream (1996 film), then Cici Cooper in Scream 2 (which then went to Sarah Michelle Gellar), and finally Christine Hamilton and Angelina Tyler in Scream 3 (2000 film), but turned them all down.
• There is a Clueless reference in the original Scream, where Stu Macher, Tatum (portrayed by Rose McGowan)'s boyfriend says, "As if! That's all I'm sayin'. As if" and Randy Meeks replies, “oh really Alicia?!” when Randy asks Stu if Sidney will go out with him.
