329 Whispering Lane is a fictional residence in Woodsboro, California. It is home to the Reed family, where Second Woodsboro Murders sole survivor, Kirby Reed lived prior and during the events of Scream 4 (2011 film).
On the 15th anniversary week of the original Woodsboro Murders, the Reed parents were away. Remaining household resident, their daughter, Kirby was home alone when she invited her friends over for the afterparty, following the third annual Stab-A-Thon's cancellation due to the stabbing of Gale Weathers.
Robbie Mercer and Trevor Sheldon as well as serial killer, Charlie Walker were murdered in the early AM hours of Saturday, October 1st inside the house. Sidney Prescott was stabbed twice in the abdomen, and left in critical condition at the ICU. Household resident, Kirby Reed was also stabbed in the abdomen twice, like Sidney, and was later confirmed to have survived.
House Layout
It is a large, two-story house with a basement. The house possibly has four bedrooms (Kirby's room is upstairs). The basement leads to one side of the house while there is possibly a hill that leads upwards to the main floor to the back of the house. The living room has a bar.
2011 Woodsboro Attacks
After Gale Weathers is attacked, they continue the after party at her house where they attempt to continue the Stab-A-Thon movies. Jill Roberts has arrived there and followed by an uninvited guest, Trevor Sheldon. Jill couldn't find her phone, but was adamant that she didn't text him to invite him and walked off to look for her phone to prove she didn't. Trevor later follows her to help look for her phone.

Around the house and in the backyard, Robbie Mercer is drunk and about to podcast on the events of the night while at her house. He is later ambushed and killed by Ghostface.
Kirby is watching the movie with Charlie and tells him it might be a good time to make a move. They almost kiss and then Trevor walks in and surprises them, asking for Jill. Angry, Charlie walks off. Kirby, also angry, asks him who invited him there and tells him to leave. Kirby later gets up as she doesn't see any of her friends around. She runs across Jill and asks where everyone is. They attempt to go outside to see Sidney Prescott has shown up at the front porch.

Sidney is forced to climb down from the roof.
Robbie comes up behind them bloody and dying from his attack and tells them to run. Behind him, the killer chases them into the house. Kirby runs towards the main floor while Jill and Sidney run upstairs towards Kirby's room. They lock themselves in. As the killer tries to break in, Sidney tells Jill to hide under the bed. As Sidney is on the rooftop outside of Kirby's window, Jill fakes like she has gotten away. Sidney is ambushed on the rooftop and eventually forced to climb down.
Sidney goes back inside to look for Jill, but runs into Kirby. Kirby leads Sidney to a basement and they lock themselves in. Not long after that, Charlie pounds at the door to the porch outside asking them to let him in. Noticing the blood on his hands, Sidney warns Kirby that if she feels she can’t trust him, not to open the door. Charlie is then abducted by Ghostface, tied and bound to the chair (like Steven Orth in Scream) with Kirby forced to answer horror trivia questions (like Casey Becker in Scream).
Sidney insisted they would be better together in the same area and leaves Kirby to answer the questions while she goes to get Jill. Sidney grabs a knife and goes upstairs to Kirby’s room to find Jill isn’t under the bed. Kirby apparently gets the last question correct and goes to free Charlie, only to be stabbed twice and left for dead in her yard.
Sidney later calls downstairs for Kirby, but is abducted by Charlie at knife point. She narrowly escapes and tries to run, but is intercepted by a stab to the abdomen by her cousin, Jill, whom unmasked herself as the second killer.
They pull Sidney into the kitchen and continue to rant about their motives to Sidney as they pull Trevor out of a nearby pantry. Jill kills Trevor for being a terrible, cheating boyfriend by shooting him in the groin and in the head.
In the mist of making themselves look like victims in the massacre, Jill betrays Charlie by stabbing him fatally to Sidney’s surprise. Jill goes on ranting to Sidney jealous of her fame of being a survivor and it’s her turn. After that, she stabs Sidney to where she collapses and Jill believes her as dead.
Jill uses Trevor’s hand to pull hair from her own scalp, uses the knife to stab herself in the shoulder, runs into a picture frame, and throws herself onto the coffee table to further make it seem like she was a victim to Trevor and Charlie in the massacre. She collapses next to Sidney mirroring her.
Dewey Riley leads the Woodsboro Police into the house. They find Robbie dead from his stab wounds and check his pulse. Officers are made to search upstairs and other parts of the house. Dewey and Judy make their way to the kitchen to see the bodies of Sidney, Jill, Charlie and Trevor. They find Jill and Sidney barely alive and they are rushed to Woodsboro Community Hospital.
Unbeknownst to Jill, Kirby is also found with stab wounds, but alive.
Behind the Scenes
- A deleted scene reveals Kirby has left her house, ordered takeout and now is going to spend time with Jill and Kate Roberts in police protection after the first two murders of Marnie Cooper and Jenny Randall. She explains that her parents are away for the weekend, and "there's no way" she'll be staying at home by herself.
Killings
- Robbie Mercer (by Charlie)
- Trevor Sheldon (by Jill)
- Charlie Walker (by Jill)
Trivia
- The theatrical release does not explicitly state Kirby's parents are away for the weekend, but it can be inferred as she is a minor, and spends much of the movie at the Reed residence.
- The final act of the remake was supposed to end at her house, similar to when the party was over during the original 1996 murder spree.
- Kirby's house was supposed to be a renovated 261 Turner Lane, Woodsboro, California, the former residence of original Ghostface serial killer, Stu Macher.
- A portion of the house was recreated for production of Scream VI, possibly to be used in Kirby flashback scenes.
